People Are Horrified By Texas Wedding Photographer’s COVID Story

People Are Horrified By Texas Wedding Photographer’s COVID Story Cassandra Stone Thu, December 17, 2020, 6:56 AM CST·5 min read The whole bridal party thought the groom having COVID was no biggie, apparently You already know that any news story that involves a wedding THIS YEAR in particular is going to increase your blood pressure, so you’ve been warned. A wedding photographer’s firsthand account of shooting a Texas wedding has captured the collective rage of the entire internet because the story is so awful, and so selfish, and so undeniably American in its individualism, that it immediately blew up all over Twitter. The article, published in Texas Monthly, anonymously details the events of a recent wedding where a COVID-positive groom continued on with his wedding — where no one wore masks, because of course they didn’t — and neglected to inform the wedding photographer (and most of the people in attendance) of his diagnosis. – ADVERTISEMENT – The incident began when a bridesmaid spilled the beans to the photographer and appeared utterly non-plussed that one of the two leads of The Pandemic Show was shedding the viral plague right before them. The bridesmaid thanked the photographer for showing up, despite “everything that’s going on with the groom.” Naturally, this immediately set off red flags for the photographer, who pressed for more information. “She was looking for me to be like, ‘Oh, that’s crazy,’ like I was going to agree with her that it was fine,” the photographer told Texas Monthly. “So I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ And she was like, ‘Oh no no no, don’t freak out. He doesn’t have symptoms. He’s fine.’”

Bride faces backlash over ‘confusing’ bridesmaid requirements: ‘I don’t want to do that’

Bride faces backlash over ‘confusing’ bridesmaid requirements: ‘I don’t want to do that’Emerald PellotWed, October 7, 2020, 10:59 AM CDT·2 mins readReddit’s “Wedding Shaming” forum is dedicated to curating outrageous requests from some serious bridezillas. One user submitted a dilemma from a bridesmaid who wanted to know if she was being selfish.“I’m a bridesmaid for a friend and she has asked the bridal party to all cut our hair to the same length (fine, I can do that) and dye our hair too,” she wrote. “I’m a blonde and she wants it to be a dark brown and I really don’t want to do that. Is it selfish to say no?”Most users didn’t really understand why a bride would want homogenous bridesmaids in the first place.“If a bunch of clones walked down the aisle in front of the bride I’d be super confused and distracted from the wedding,” one user wrote.“I don’t understand this logic. Wouldn’t making all the bridesmaids look the same be weirdly distracting in photos?” another commented.“Why would you want your friends to not look like themselves in your pictures? That’s just so weird,” someone said. While it is strange to some, it is a tradition in some cultures. According to Bustle, it dates back to Ancient Rome. At the time, they wanted the bride and bridesmaids to look identical.Essentially, the bridesmaids were decoy brides who served to ward off evil spirits, suitors and even kidnappers. The goal was to create confusion to prevent couples from being successfully targeted by wrongdoers. Now the ritual continues, just far removed from its origin which clearly no longer applies to modern life. These cozy candles will get you in the autumn spirit in no time:

Unforgettable Wedding Dresses – Herald Weekly

Da dum da da, da dum da da – ah yes, that one life-changing, stupidly expensive day. The wedding day. Many of us might daydream on a crowded subway about our wedding day, drool escaping from the sides of our mouths, eyes slightly glazed over…you get the picture. During said daydream, perhaps you’re deciding on the floral arrangements, ice sculptures, the reception, the DJ, the four-piece string quartet, or perhaps you’re sampling the flavors for the 25-tier cake you REALLY think you NEED. But there is one constant little thought bubble bouncing around in there…ADVERTISEMENTBegin Slideshow ADVERTISEMENTFor the brides to be, most of the stress isn’t over the venue, nor the guest list (let’s be real if your cultural background isn’t 100% American, that list is definitely going to end up being organized by your ever-willing aunties) but over THE DRESS. A form-fitting sheath perhaps? A full-skirted ballgown to make you the Disney princess you always dreamt of being? Perhaps a halter neck? Maybe even a sweetheart neckline with a bodice encrusted with Swarovski crystals? Alas, our list does not cover the conventional, the chic, the elegant, nor the demure. Pretty sure the staff at Kleinfeld would be peeking through their fingers at the horror show which awaits us. You’re probably thinking; it can’t be THAT bad. Oh, but believe us, it is.BEGIN SLIDESHOWADVERTISEMENT

There Was a Secret Royal Wedding Last Weekend

Last weekend, the granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin, tied the knot in a private ceremony in London. The bride, Flora Ogilvy, said “I do” to husband Timothy Vesterberg at the Chapel Royal of St. James’s Palace. She wore a classic, simple dress by Emilia Wickstead. Although the nuptials were hush-hush for a few days, the new Mrs. Vesterberg shared the exciting news in an Instagram post this afternoon with a photo from her wedding day. “Timothy and I were married privately at Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace on Saturday 26th September. We are truly overjoyed and look forward to celebrating next year,” she wrote in the caption. The news arrives almost three months after fellow royal bride Princess Beatrice quietly exchanged vows with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in Windsor. Only about 20 family members were present for the intimate ceremony, including the queen and Prince Philip. The event was originally expected to be surrounded by greater fanfare in usual royal wedding fashion but was delayed and downsized due to the pandemic. It’s unclear who attended the Ogilvy–Vesterberg wedding. Watch: Why is Meghan Markle suing the Mail On Sunday? Ad: 2s Scroll back up to restore default view. Ogilvy, an art consultant, and Vesterberg, a former professional hockey player from Sweden, first announced their engagement in November 2019. “We’re engaged! My beloved Timothy asked me to marry him and we’re blissfully happy,” Ogilvy said at the time, sharing a similar picture-perfect portrait with her beau. Ogilvy isn’t as much in the public eye as her distant cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, but she has appeared at some royal family events and gatherings, such as the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor in May 2019. Familiar royals like Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Prince Harry, the queen, and even members of the Middleton family were among the guests.

Wedding guest sparks controversy with ‘inappropriate’ outfit choice: ‘You just don’t do it’

Wedding guest sparks controversy with ‘inappropriate’ outfit choice: ‘You just don’t do it’ Emerald Pellot Tue, September 29, 2020, 12:36 PM CDT A bride is wondering if uninviting her dad’s girlfriend is a good idea. The woman went on Reddit’s “Am I the A******” forum to seek advice on the matter. It all started when the woman was scrolling through Instagram and saw that, prior to the ceremony, her father’s girlfriend posted her wedding outfit. The issue is it’s nearly the same color as her wedding dress. “I just happened to be scrolling on Instagram where I see my dad’s girlfriend had posted a picture of what she was planning to wear for the wedding,” the woman wrote. “I was livid. It’s literally an off-white silk slip dress and matching blazer. There’s no mistaking the color since she took it straight from the website itself. I showed everyone who I was with that day and they were immediately surprised. I texted my sister as well and she seemed upset.” Later on, her dad’s girlfriend texted her. The girlfriend said that she had taken down the Instagram post to keep the dress a surprise for her father. She also mentioned that it wasn’t off-white but in fact beige. “I sent a message back to her saying that I am uncomfortable with her wearing a dress so similar in color to mine and have asked her not to wear it, she has not replied to me,” she explained. “What I find kind of ironic is she had previously asked if she could get a dress the same color as my bridesmaids and I had asked her to try and avoid that if possible. So it baffles me why she would think it’s okay to wear the same color as the bride?” The bride spoke with her dad to explain the issue. “I called my dad once he was home and told him, I’m not okay with her wearing that dress, we’ve had to make a lot of big changes to our wedding and that is one thing I am standing firm on,” she said. “I told him I’m sorry if I put him in a tough position, but I’m putting my foot down on this. I’ve already got people saying is she shows up in it, they will turn her away on my behalf. I hate being rude and I don’t want to come across as a bridezilla or anything but I think I’m justified in the way I’m feeling?” Reddit felt that it was inappropriate for anyone but the bride to show up in white at a wedding. “My ex-husband’s stepmother showed up in white to our wedding. Everyone was pretty disgusted with her for it! You just don’t do it,” one user commented. “It’s inappropriate and bad form. There can’t be adult women who still don’t know this,” another said. “Everyone knows that you don’t wear white/colors close to white to a wedding when you aren’t the bride,” someone added.

Bindi Irwin Shares Painting Reimagining Her Wedding Day With Dad Steve Irwin

Bindi Irwin Shares Painting Reimagining Her Wedding Day With Dad Steve Irwin Kristine Cannon August 8, 2020, 7:16 AM ‘My family. Our wedding day. This artwork gave me happy tears,’ Bindi wrote This past March, a small, intimate wedding took place at the Australia Zoo. It was Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell’s ceremony, and they exchanged vows so beautiful, her brother Robert got teary-eyed simply talking about his big sister’s wedding day. Months later, though, it’d be Bindi’s turn to shed a few happy tears — thanks to a piece of gorgeous artwork reimagining her wedding day with her late father, Steve Irwin. “‘To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.’ ― Thomas Campbell,” Bindi captioned the photo of herself, her husband, her mother Terri, and her brother Robert posed with the touching painting gifted to Bindi from a fan, visual artist Debb Oliver. “Thank you @the_monkey_brush for creating this spectacular piece.” The painting shows Bindi in her wedding dress flanked by her now-husband holding their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Piggy, and her father, who was tragically killed in 2006 by a stingray. Next to Steve are Terri, Robert, and Steve’s pooch, Sui. According to Access Online, Bindi received a physical copy of the image after seeing it on Oliver’s Instagram in July. “My family. Our wedding day,” wrote Bindi, who announced her engagement to Powell last summer. “This artwork gave me happy tears. Thank you to ‘The Monkey Brush’ for creating such a beautiful piece, it means the world to me.”
